The lizard lunged at him, Hunter hopping out of the way and jamming the spear into its side, the creature yowling in pain. He'd slain dozen of lizards before, this one wouldn't be any harder. "Of course this would happen," he grumbled to himself, preparing for combat. The slugcat growled back, flicking a spear off his back and into his hands. The green lizard from before snapped its jaws angrily, lurching out of the tunnel with a growl. There was a sound behind him, and Hunter's eyes widened, as he lunged out of the tunnel he was hiding in. Teaming up? What? Why would he want to team up with them? Was this slugcat insane? They'd only slow him down, and he didn't have time for that. "Maybe we should team up? We could find food more efficiently that way, and we would be able to drive away predators more easily too!" We didn't expect to run across another slugcat." They took a few steps forward, Hunter pacing backwards as they did so. "Wait, wait, we're not going to hurt you, I promise. What should he do? Run away? Attack them? Try and just ignore them? "Hello?" Wait, were they speaking to him? He took a step back, and the white one held up their hands. Hunter held deathly still, heart pounding in his chest.

He thought for a second that they may have seen the green lizard, but his blood ran cold as he realized after a moment that the white one was staring directly at him. As they walked past his hiding spot, the white one suddenly stopped, putting their hand on the yellow one's shoulder. He hadn't seen any other slugcats around ever since heading out on this journey, and he honestly hadn't expected see any.

Two slugcats had just rounded the corner, a white one, and a smaller yellow one.

He bunched up his back, narrowing his eyes as. He lunged out of the way, careful to not make a sound, and slid into a more discreet location from which he could stake out his fast approaching prey. The green lizard he was hunting didn't seem to have noticed, but he didn't need a potential additional threat or distraction while he tracked them, so he resolved to snuff out the source of the footsteps. Hunter's eye twitched, as the sounds of leaves crunching under footsteps came from behind him, their owner clearly having no regard whatsoever for stealth of any kind.
